Inspiring Action

Authors often choose to write about a specific theme or message to inspire readers to act. Actions may be small or individual such as committing to get to know people before judging them, or larger and more community-based such as using our voices to promote awareness, writing letters, or raising funds for a cause. Invite book club members to brainstorm a list of small and large actions this reading has inspired them to take. Members can create journals to reflect on their progress toward individual goals or actions. If time permits, select a larger goal to work on together.
