SCIE1991 is a virtual course offered to High School students interested in studying Advanced Environmental Science 120 and/or pursuing Post Secondary studies in Science, Humanities, Law, Indigenous Studies, Political Science, Economics or Education. The course is offered online in partnership with Mount Allison University and The Department of Education and Early Child Development – Office of First Nation Education, to students across New Brunswick. It was expected that students have a desire to investigate environmental issues and concerns within their respective communities and be open to different cultural perspectives with respect to the environment. Hence the name, EcoCultural Approaches to Environmental Science. Upon successful completion of the course requirements, including a community-based service-learning project, students receive credit in both Advanced Environmental Science 120 as well as SCIE1991.
